The word "chakra" comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel" or "spinning disc." The seven main chakras are energy centres running along the spine, each governing specific aspects of physical and psychological health.

Basic safety, instincts, groundedness. Imbalance: fears, financial problems, chronic anxiety. Stones: red jasper, garnet. Candle: red.
Creativity, sexuality, emotions. Imbalance: reproductive issues, creative blocks. Stones: carnelian, orange calcite. Candle: orange.
Will, self-worth, personal power. Imbalance: low confidence, digestive issues, lack of will. Stones: citrine, tiger's eye. Candle: yellow.
Love, compassion, forgiveness. Imbalance: resentment, emotional closure, heart conditions. Stones: rose quartz, malachite. Candle: green or pink.
Communication, self-expression, truth. Imbalance: throat issues, inability to express yourself. Stones: lapis lazuli, aquamarine. Candle: blue.
Intuition, clairvoyance, wisdom. Imbalance: headaches, sleep disruption, distrust of intuition. Stones: amethyst, labradorite. Candle: purple.
Spirituality, connection to the higher self, enlightenment. Imbalance: alienation, loss of meaning. Stones: clear quartz, moonstone. Candle: white.
Chakra Balancing Practice
Basic meditation: lie on your back and place the corresponding stone on the relevant chakra. Breathe steadily for 10โ15 minutes, visualising the chakra filling with its colour and spinning evenly. Do this once a week for maintenance or daily when there's clear imbalance.
