Energetic cleansing removes accumulated negativity from a person, object, or space. Just as the body accumulates dirt and needs washing, the energetic body accumulates emotional and psychic residue.
Signs You Need a Cleansing
- Persistent exhaustion and a feeling of "heaviness" with no physical cause
- A sense that "something is pressing on you," especially in the morning
- Frequent negative thoughts that are hard to stop
- Apathy and loss of interest in life
- After intensive contact with difficult people
- After visiting hospitals, funeral services, or places of conflict
Types of Cleansing
๐ฏ Candle Cleansing
Working with a black candle โ it absorbs negative energy. Light it in the centre of the room or in front of you. Sit quietly for 15โ20 minutes, visualising dark smoke carrying all negativity away. Afterwards, air the space. Dispose of the candle remnants outside the home.
๐ฟ Herb Cleansing (Smudging)
White sage, mugwort, palo santo โ smoke from burning these purifies space. For a personal cleansing, slowly trace the smoke around your whole silhouette from top to bottom, paying particular attention to the head, chest, and hands.
๐ง Salt Cleansing
Sea salt is a powerful absorber of negativity. A salt bath (200โ300g of sea salt plus a few drops of eucalyptus) removes the evil eye and light curses. Soak for 15โ20 minutes, then rinse in the shower, washing away what you've released.
แบ Runic Cleansing
Working with the rune Hagalaz โ the rune of transformation through breaking down the old. For practitioners: draw the rune on paper and burn it with the intention of cleansing.

The sound of a singing bowl, drum, or clapping breaks up energetic blockages. Move through all the corners of the home creating a rhythmic sound.
